The Savegre River rises in the Talamanca mountain range and flows through primary and secondary rainforest toward the Pacific coast near Quepos. Its water is exceptionally clear — fed by mountain springs and protected by surrounding national park buffer zones — making it one of the cleanest rivers in Central America. The day begins with pickup from your hotel. A light breakfast with coffee is served during the 1.5-hour drive to the river. Groups raft in 6-passenger rafts or smaller 2-person rafts, accompanied by experienced guides and a dedicated safety kayaker. The rafting section combines Class II and III rapids with calmer stretches where you can watch for wildlife.
